This will be an unpopular post, but I don’t really care. I’ll be the lightning rod.

UPDATED ADDITION TO THIS POST: What's with all the Brewster worship? I mean, he's cool and all, but you know his introduction would be handled sloppily and not up to par with previous incarnations. We would all be tired of Brewster in two weeks.

This is definitely a tldr post.

Gamers have been complaining forever about ACNH. Whether it's the lack of content, lackluster and infrequent updates, bizarre clothing and item choices, missing features, etc., there's always something to fuel the bitch sessions. The masses have collectively pointed their fingers at Nintendo.

In reality, we, the gamers, are the biggest problem.

We've turned this game into something that it's not. We were so hard up for content we created our own. I liked AC better when it was on a smaller scale. When it wasn't treated as a cultural or worldwide phenomenon.

I mean, look at the 'offenders', here…

We have grown men throwing tantrums on their YouTube channels. And they are as about as indecisive as it gets, flip-flopping on a dime…

"My friends, the wait is over! We FINALLY have an update, and I'm so orgasmic over boba tea!"

    Two days later…

"Sigh. Nintendo really fucked us over. Again."

Wash. Rinse. Repeat. And no, 40 year-old man with frosted hair, we don't want to smash your like button.

We have people selling presets to change the appearance of screenshots. We have people manipulating and splicing real world photos with AC screenshots. We have people making comments about screenshots of their animals, inventing scenarios and thoughts that simply don't exist.

"Awwww, look. Beau and Erik are enjoying time together, eating at my ramen restaurant."

No, they really aren't. They're just fucking sitting/standing there. The villagers aren't that goddamn complex. I wish they could ride bikes, have relationships (beyond "snack fights"), actually catch bugs and fish, etc. But they can't, and won't. So stop.

People hacking and trading or selling/making all new items the first day of the update, then bitching that there's nothing to do. No fucking shit, you just condensed several months of gameplay into one hour. Those items were meant to be obtained in due time, at a leisurely pace. Yet, we just have to run as fast as we can to the finish line. GIVE IT ALL TO ME NOW! Patience is a mother fucking virtue.

By the way, how are people able to legally sell room sets, trips to treasure islands, etc.? Isn't that considered a form of piracy? They are, after all, selling someone else's product for profit, without the consent of said owner of product. I think Nintendo's lawyers would have a field day on eBay, Nookazon, etc.

Nintendo isn't off the hook, either. I see things objectively wrong on both sides. Don't get me wrong, there are so many things missing from the game, it truly feels incomplete. More on that in post number two, coming soon.
