I really cannot stress enough how much I love the "mom" feature in Animal Crossing. This is my first time playing an Animal Crossing game so I'm not sure if this is a continuation but it brings me so much happiness every time I get a letter. I lost my mother in March of 2020 when I was 23. I started playing animal crossing a few weeks before my 25th birthday in august and had no idea my characters mom would write to them. All of a sudden on my birthday I had a letter from "mom" and had a cake! My whole grown ass started balling my eyes out! I was filled with so much love. I just wanted to share this because I'm super new to the game & the whole world of animal crossing but the game absolutely won my heart by having this small feature. I can't even imagine how much this means to the children without moms! There's so many things I love about the game but this little thing will always make my day every time it happens (:

So, I'm in liver failure and need a transplant. If I don't get a transplant, my disease is terminal. (It's a genetic disease that causes the bile ducts to be malformed). Anyway, I just started playing animal crossing. Today I visited my husband's island and found that he has placed a gravestone just a little bit away from his house and surrounded it with flowers.

I asked him who's it was and he said "don't worry about it" and then got quiet and awkward. I know it's most likely symbolism for me for 4 reasons:

He hasn't had anyone close to him die before 2. We've had conversations in the past about me potentially dying before I can get a transplant, or even during the procedure and he's always understandably upset and 3. I want to be cremated and have my ashes spread so there will be no specific place where loved ones can go to "visit/mourn" me. 4. The flowers are yellow flowers which are the closest you can get to my favorite flower, sunflowers.

I don't feel weird about it, I know that it's a way for him to cope with the gravity of the situation...I guess I just kind of wanted to get it off of my chest, as a way for me to cope too.

I hope that I make it and we have many more years together, but if I don't, I hope that he can find some comfort when he visits me on his island. Thanks Animal Crossing.
